How is your garden growing?

Just a quick post to show you how the garden is doing. Isn't it lovely and green?

What is growing:

-8 varieties of tomatoes

-Strawberry plants (the fruits are done; but the plants are flourishing)

-3 varieties of carrots

-Corn

-Canteloupe

- French Melon..can't remember the name

What I find quite interesting is that I can start tomato seeds from scratch, grow corn and melons; but for the life of me I can't grow radishes. Kindergarteners can do it with a seed and paper cup; but I grown 50 plants and get 2 radishes...what gives?

VQB - Sew Scrappy Sew Happy - July 2010

As some of you may remember, I started a Virtual Quilting Bee (VQB) on Flickr about a month ago. I named it Sew Scrappy, Sew Happy. Well, the first month's block I am happy to say is done and only a few days after receiving the fabric. I had never made a String block before; but the tutorial from P.S. I Quilt was super simple and made this block come together very quickly.



I'll be posting the other blocks as the months go by so you can enjoy them. Yet it is my hope that maybe you'll learn a thing or two along the way as I share what I have learned with you.

Update: Okay, so I had enough scraps left over that I went ahead and completed another block for July. Here is the 2nd one. I can't promise that I'll multiple blocks each month; but this design just went together so quickly, I couldn't resist.
